Why Do You Snore?

Snoring is the noise of the soft palate and the loose tissue in the mouth, nose and throat, like the uvula, adenoids and/or tonsils, vibrating during sleep. It generally occurs when you sleep on your back and during the inhaling process.

As the throat muscles lose their firmness due to age, and relax during sleep, the loose hanging soft tissues cause the air passages to narrow. The obstructing elements in the throat touch one another, causing friction and subsequent vibration. The faster the force of air and the narrower the air passage, the louder and more resonant the snore becomes.

What is Patchy Hair Loss?

Patchy hair loss is not as common as the usual male patterned balding, postpartum balding, or balding caused by genetic pre-disposition. Patchy hair loss occurs not only on the scalp, but on other areas of the body as well. Patchy hair loss in women is as common as in men.

Whereas normal balding or slowed hair growth generally limits itself to the scalp, sudden patchy hair loss can appear anywhere on the body. Female patchy hair loss is just as likely to occur as it is in males. There is no absolute way of determing when or why any given individual will be afflicted with this condition.

The causes of patchy hair loss are not genetic and are not necessarily affected by environmental factors, either. Female patchy hair loss is just as common as instances found in male patients. One might start out experiencing this type of hair loss in one area of the body only to find after time that the condition has healed and left the area only to move to another area of the body.
